Vol. 17 No. 1 (2026)

Babcock Journal of Social Sciences (BJSS), Volume 17(1), 2026, brings together multidisciplinary research on contemporary social, economic, technological, institutional, and policy issues affecting Nigeria and the wider Sub-Saharan African region. The issue explores themes including digital technology and cybersecurity, financial inclusion, economic growth, fiscal and monetary policy, governance, education, healthcare, social wellbeing, environmental sustainability, and public policy.

The contributions provide empirical and conceptual insights into emerging challenges such as exchange rate fluctuations, geopolitical risk, youth behaviour, mental health, human capital development, poverty alleviation, renewable energy governance, and sustainable development. Collectively, the articles demonstrate the relevance of social science research to understanding complex societal challenges and informing evidence-based policies for inclusive and sustainable development.

Volume 17(1), 2026 therefore offers a broad and timely body of scholarship for researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and other stakeholders interested in contemporary development issues in Nigeria and Africa.
